HELLO August

Hello August 2017! I can’t believe you’re here😳 The summer flew by, and I have mixed feelings about it! A lot of changes are about to take place in my life and I’m scared/ so excited about it! I’m moving to Atlanta, which is a huge deal! I’ve lived in Mississippi my entire life, but I’m SO ready to take on Atlanta! I didn’t plan on moving to Atlanta till about a month ago, so I’ve had little time to plan anything! The next ten days will be so busy for me! (Plz say a prayer)

My boyfriend Mike got into Ole Miss Law school, so he will be moving to Oxford, Mississippi within the next couple of weeks! I’m going to miss him way too much! ☹️ But we are doing what’s best for both of our careers, and we’re excited to take that on together! I’m so excited for our future, and the fall season!

Things I’m excited for this August:

  • Starting my life in a new city
  • Moving my boyfriend to Law School
  • Football season
  • Pumpkin spice lattes are now acceptable
  • Fall wardrobe 💅🏼
  • New job
  • My 30 day fitness journey
  • Bonne Vivantes fittings for our Mardi Gras Ball

I hope everyone has a beautiful Tuesday, and please enjoy the first day of August🍁🌿🍂

Healthy start to the week

Happy Monday everyone! I wanted to start the week off right doing something I don’t normally do! I love coffee and coke, but they’re obviously terrible for your body! My normal morning routine consists of lots of coffee, but I wanted to switch it up. I decided to go on a little detox adventure this week and see how long I can go without breaking down and chugging a coffee or a coke! (Currently waiting for the caffeine headache to kick in) So I Pinterested some detox water ideas and decided to go with an old favorite! I use to use this recipe in college all of the time whenever I was trying to lose weight before an event or major weekend!

Not only does this satisfy your tastebuds, but it’s so refreshing during hot summer days! The lemon-mint-cucumber combination cleanses, aids in digestion, and rehydrates. The lemon makes for a powerful detox drink; lemon juice helps to cleanse and alkalize the body. Even though I’m trying to stay away from the sugar, the mint adds a touch of sweetness without the sugar, and it also helps settle your stomach and aids in digestion. The cucumber contains anti-inflammatory properties, and helps with rehydration. Not only are cucumbers delicious, they’re known to contain lariciresinol, pinoresinol, and secoisolariciresinol. These three lignans have a strong history of reduced risk of several cancer types, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and uterine cancer! So why not add a few extra cucumbers, am I right?? 😋

I went to Walmart today and grabbed the ingredients for the water, and immediately came home to mix everything together! I let the water sit for 30 minutes, and then poured a glass! So yummy 😋
